Abby's Well Check

As we finish up Abby's birthday month she had her Three Year Well Check on Wednesday.  The three year check is pretty uneventful and she was healthy.  She is also very tall.  I call it 'stupid tall'.  She's 40 inches (like a 4+ year old) and 30 pounds (like a 2 1/2 year old).  Her BMI is really low, ha!  She only weighs two pounds more than she did last year at her well check, but she's three inches taller.  It's just crazy.  So I think her percentiles are 99th and 40th or something similar.

The last seven days

On Tuesday nights kids eat free at Central Market and the weather was beautiful for playing outside so we met some Sunday School friends for dinner.

Ready for school on Wednesday.  I love seeing Aaron in polo shirts.  It's how I think of him.

On Wednesdays Abby has dance and swim and we have lunch together in between.  I had some coupons for Einstein Bros so we ate there.

Abby in her new night gown from the Elliotts on Thursday.  She loves it.  It makes her a princess.

On Friday I took my annual cupcake birthday pictures with the kids.

They are in PJs because we had a PJ Birthday Party that night at a bounce house place.

Aaron loved the big slide.  Abby did, too, though Mr. Huffman had to take her the first time.

Aaron's favorite part was the game table.

Jory works one Saturday a month and this Saturday we went to visit him at work at lunch time.

He took us over to TCU and showed the kids the classroom where he teaches.

Then we ate outside near the campus.

It was a fun time

This is Abby 'waddling' around the entire college campus singing "Waddle, Waddle, Waddle". We just don't know.

When we got home Aaron wanted to prove that he could still fit in the jogging stroller and Abby wanted to prove that she could push him.

That afternoon we went to Old Navy

Good hair, Miss Thing

On Sunday afternoon we went to Barnes and Noble.  The kids LOVE the book store

I guess I skipped Monday.  On Tuesday Abby wore her new dress and tights from Grandma Beth to school.  She was so proud of her colorful tights!
I had lunch with Aaron today.

A few more Birthday things

After Abby's nap on Saturday she ate one of her birthday cookies.  For an hour.  She seriously savored that cookie.  It was one of the ones with the black mouse ears.  As you can see.
On Monday she and I went to the Disney Store at the Outlet Mall while Aaron was in school.  She wanted to have her picture taken by the giant football outside the mall.  She is wearing one of her new birthday dresses from Grandma Beth and new frilly socks from Dee and her Christmas shoes from Grandma Sheri.  !  :)
On Tuesday she got to have a little Minnie Mouse birthday party at her school.  She took a dozen of her birthday cookies and favor bags with Minnie Mouse candies.  She was so excited to wear one of her new Minnie shirts and her new Minnie bow and her new Minnie barrette.
She ran up to her teacher and said, "guess what is hiding under my jacket?!?!"  then she ripped off her coat and said "MINNIE!"  and then she showed her the new bow.  And the new barrette.
And I took a picture of Aaron's shoes on Sunday at church.  Because I love them.

First Real Haircut

I took Abby to get her hair cut today.  I had to trick her into it since she has decided that she doesn't like haircuts and she goes into some weird terrified fit when I bring it up.  Which is strange since she's never actually had one.  She had bangs cut in when she turned one and she had them trimmed exactly once.  That was it.  And the trim was on her grandparents couch during a birthday party.  Not real traumatic.

But it was definitely time.  Her hair is so straggly in the back.  And she ended up loving the haircutting experience and really loving the hair cut!  She keeps saying how much she likes it and how beautiful it is!

She got a full blow dry which is something her brother actually is afraid of.  He told her to say "no dry hair", but she loved it.

Straightening it up at the end.  She did a great job.  She was so still and she held her head exactly where she was told to.

Afterwards we had Chick-Fil-A at one of the restaurants with an outside play area.  The weather is BEAUTIFUL right now.

Aaron is in preschool this year and I really mourned the time I was going to lose with him, but Abby and I have had so many sweet days just the two of us (like Aaron and I did the first two years of his life).  And it really is a precious time of sweet memories.

Abby's Presents

Have you ever seen so many Minnie Mouse gift bags?  And shirts?
It's amazing, but nothing was duplicated

I don't think I got everything in here and I know I missed the dresses Grandma Beth and Grandpa Mike sent but Abby got wonderful gifts from so many people who love her.

After the Party

After Abby's party we all rested and then we took the Birthday Girl to dinner at Central Market.

It was a great day for playing outside.

It was a really fun ending to a really fun day!
