Road Trip Day One

This weekend we took a trip to Mississippi for the Ole Miss/Texas A&M Game.  And, really, to see my best friend and to show my husband Oxford.  It was AWESOME.  We had a great trip and the kids did fabulous.  We were so proud of them.  We were in the car about 11 hours each way.

 Our very first stop was the travel center across the Texas-Louisiana Border.

Next we hit Cracker Barrel for lunch

Cracker Barrel is one of our family's favorite road trip stops

 The kids love to play there

 And we get a good meal

 

 We also stopped when we crossed over into Mississippi

The kids loved the huge river and there was a real live train running over it when we were there!

 

 We made one more quick stop for dinner at Wendy's about an hour from Mrs. Kathy's house and then we were there!  We all went to bed pretty quick and couldn't wait to get up and see Ole Miss!

Birthday Parties

We had three parties this weekend.

 Saturday morning was Jackson Elliott's 2nd Birthday Party.  Which I can not believe, by the way.  Anyway, it was a John Deere theme and the invitations were adorable and I am certain that the party decorations would rock your world because that's how Julie rolls, but I wasn't there and Jory didn't take any pictures of the decorations.  Odd... He did, however, send me phone pictures of the kids

 In the afternoon we had Emily Golz's 1st Birthday party.  It was a pumpkin theme and so cute!

 On Sunday after church we had a surprise birthday party for one of the men in our Sunday School class. 

 It was at Johnny B's and so fun!

We had such a great weekend!

 Yep, this is early in the day when her hair still looks 'good'!  You should see her around 3!

 We are in full fall mode in the Allen Closets!

 

Abby didn't want me to take her picture on this morning, but I love this sweet owl outfit.  It has a turtleneck, too, but it's still in the 90s here.

 Oh this girl is such a sweet mess and she loves her boots!

Julie just bought Katie another pair of red boots and she was so excited to tell Abby that there would be a pair waiting for her when she outgrows these.

The kids are back in swim and doing great.  I put them in their PJs when we are done since it's close to bed time when we get home.  Aaron is learning how to use his arms and swim strong.  Abby is doing a fantastic job of swimming to the side and climbing out.  Which is really all I am concerned about with that sweet child1

Aaron is just loving school!

He comes home and teaches Abby everything he learns.

 He knows the Pledge and they say it every day.

 He has science, math and social studies.  He gets to go to the library and check out a book each week.  He has computer lab and centers time.  He LOVES to buy his lunch in the cafeteria.

 It is amazing to hear about his day each day!

Here are some random pictures taken recently.  Here she was building a castle.  She has a lot of fun playing however she wants to when Aaron is in school, but she does miss him.

We had lunch with Aaron this week.  This was Abby waiting for him to come into the cafeteria.

Abby is really enjoying "school".  She learns lots of songs and it is so fun to hear her sing them.  She can count to five and recognizes most of her letters.  It's just amazing to hear her talk about everything.
