 We also had dinner that night at an interpreter's house and had Ecuadorian food

 

 On July 26 we flew home.  This was in the Houston airport where we first landed in the USA.

 I was so excited about this

 We got home in time for a great dinner with our family.

 

It was an amazing week.  Aaron can not wait to go back next year.  The dates of the next trip were announced on Sunday so the planning can commence!

Summer of Fun Weekend

Really we didn't do much of anything this weekend and I was horrible at taking pictures, but here is a recap.

 The kids got new clothes from Grandma Sheri (and Grandpa Tom) and I love this dress so much that it may be her First Day of School dress.  Maybe without the purple socks, tennis shoes and morning hair.

 On Saturday we went to the Coppell Farmers Market.  We had our basket pick up in Coppell and have heard good things about that Farmers Market but we'd never been.  There was a play area for the kids.  Afterwards we went to the Grapevine Library (above).  Abigail was wearing cowboy boots (she calls them Cowgirl Boots).  She loves to pick out her outfit each day.  I told her for the first week of school maybe she and I could work together.

 

Sunday Aaron and I spoke in a joint Sunday School class about Ecuador and then we went to lunch at Aaron's favorite restaurant (Howard Wang's) with the Elliotts.

 On Friday afternoon we had a carnival.  Aaron was in a game outside on the dust (there was no grass in the village) and he was filthy!

Ecuador Day Three and Four

 On Tuesday afternoon we went to another church in Quito and did a service and a giveaway.  Aaron was in charge of toiletries again (our mornings were the same Monday through Friday).

Lunch on Wednesday.  We had the same sack lunch each day at the village after VBS before we would go to our activity for the afternoon.

 Wednesday night was a women's event and Aaron served with the men.

 

It was an amazing event and I couldn't be with Aaron but he did so well and made me proud.

These were the library books that Aaron took to Ecuador.  I checked them, so I took a picture in case they didn't make it and I had to buy them from the library.  Everyone was so impressed with how much he read.  He has read almost 90 hours since June 6.  The library Summer reading program ends this week and he wants to hit 100 hours.

Ecuador Day One and Two

 As I said in another post, Saturday was a travel day.  It was 16 hours from when we left our house to when we arrived at the hotel, so Sunday was a bit of a rest day.  We met our interpreters.  This is Anna and Drew who were on our team and our two interpreters, Abby and Diana.

We had breakfast, a church service as a group, lunch, a group meeting, the interpreter time and then we went to the store to get our supplies for the week.  Then we went to Las Marias, where we would be serving, to give out fliers about our Vacation Bible School.

Our church comes every year and a lot of the kids and adults recognized our group.  We work with a missionary there and we have the same schedule each year.  The families in the village look so forward to it. When we arrived on Monday, the kids were waiting for us.
