Dallas Arboretum

We took my mom to the Dallas Arboretum while she was here.  We got really lucky because it was cool and not busy at all.  We only went through a tiny portion of it.  The Children's Area alone is 8 acres and we hit about 1/4 of that and just the area from the entrance to the children's area.  There are a lot of exhibits for Spring Break that we didn't get to but we went through the Tulips and Abigail took 168 pictures.  I deleted most of them, but they are beautiful.

Aaron's Birthday

We started Spring Break off with Aaron turning eight years old!
He had already celebrated his birthday at Great Wolf Lodge in February but we still made the day special.  We went to the Perot Science Museum.  The kids played in the water outside before we went in.

He wanted a Star Wars Cake.  Really, my mom was coming and she told me that there must be cake and I almost didn't get one, but I ran up to Tom Thumb on his birthday and grabbed him this.  He was pretty excited.

He chose Outback for dinner.  Really he chose Asian, but it's not Mom's favorite and his grandparents had taken him to Outback when they visited in January and he decided it was the place to be.  He got ribs but said they weren't as good as our friend's who makes them for him on his smoker!
We got balloons from the balloon guy!  Abigail wore a cupcake dress in Aaron's honor.
This was a really fun special day!

Gearing up for Spring Break

I got caught up on my pictures just in time for Spring Break and I just downloaded almost 200 pictures from the last two weeks!

A lot happens at school the week before Spring Break to try to prevent families from taking vacations early.
 We had CiCi's Pizza night
Jump Rope for Heart awards.  Aaron raised more money for the American Heart Association than any other 2nd Grader and he got a medal.  His name was announced over the loud speaker during morning announcements and he was so excited and proud.

The school Open House is right before Spring Break and the kids loved showing us everything they have been working on.  Aaron wrote a biography on Jackie Robinson.

Aaron was also Teacher Assistant for the Day on the last day of school.  SO fun!

And with that...

I am caught up!  I have downloaded, posted and printed every picture from the past two months.  All four scrapbooks are caught up (I have one for each kid and one for me and Jory), all four photo albums are caught up, all calendars are caught up and my office space is cleared off for the first time since mid January.  Just in time for Spring Break Picture Taking!

Here are the last of the pictures on my phone.

Abigail has been making us sweet treats!  Here is one of her creations.
 Lunch with her yesterday
I started Andrew's first year frame and framed this newborn picture for his room
This morning.  I was trying to get him to smile but he only does it for Jory
Lunch with Aaron today.  We had a great time.  He had so much to tell me!
Here's to being caught up!  WHEW.

Six Weeks Old

Our precious miracle was six weeks old Thursday.  He weighed in at 9 1/2 pounds - he finally hit his brother's birth weight!

This was on his six week birthday in my favorite outfit

We had one of his newborns put on a canvas for his room

Sis set this shot up and took it.  She's awfully proud and I think it is adorable!

More Pictures

Some of these were from early in February but they didn't get downloaded when I did all the posts last week and some of these have been taken since the download.

This was Andrew's very first Valentine.  He also got one later from Dee and Papa.

Loving the sweater

This is my favorite outfit.  He wore it in the hospital and it's a newborn size so it's on its way out so I put it on him almost every day.  It's Kissy Kissy and it is SO soft.  All of my kids came home from the hospital in Kissy Kissy! Andrew actually got a monogrammed Kissy Kissy blanket in the mail this week in the same soft blue material and I love it so much

We had Dee and Papa over for dinner Sunday and Sis set the table fancy.  She was so proud.  She also chose the recipes and cooked almost everything herself!

Lunch with Aaron this week
 Lunch with Abigail this week
 Six week cuteness

Abigail in a sweater the day after she wore sleeveless.  This week has been one extreme to the next every day!

The kids wanted two lunches this week.  This was today.
Also today. I love that they still want me to have lunch with them and they tell me all about their days.  I have been able to keep up with my weekly lunches even with Andrew's birth (well, one week my parents covered for me but that's cooler anyway) and I am so glad about that. Love these kids and their stages!
