26 Months

Little Miss is 26 Months Old Today

I feel like it was about this time that I started doing Monthly Interviews with Aaron, but I think I'd just get a lot of "yeahs" with Abby, so I'll just keep doing updates for a while.

She did pick up some big words lately.  She's up to 55 and her most recent are:

Me
Abby
Okay
Bear (Ba)
Yogurt (Yagoo)

She's also got some new signs: orange and cracker
She wears a 2T and a size 5 diaper.
She has started taking really long naps in the afternoon.

She is full of Joy and full of Life!

Boots and Backhoes

Julie gave Abby a pair of red cowboy boots.  They are for her to wear in a year or two, but Abby couldn't resist putting them on.  With her very favorite PJs from Uncle Doug.  She loves boots!

I really thought she was going to be wearing them to the park.
I did get some sandals on her, but this backhoe stayed with her all day!

April Catch Up

I have not been downloading my pictures this month and we are now halfway through the month, so I have quite a bit of catch up to do.  I just down loaded the 100+ pictures that were on my phone for the last two weeks, so I'll start with that and this will probably take two posts.  Then when I feel brave I will download what is on my camera.

Tuesday April 2, 2013
I thought Abby looked cute in this outfit her teacher gave her.
Of course, she has a style all her own.
Wednesday April 3, 2013
We usually don't have so many cold days in April, but Abby was wearing sweater dresses this month!

Thursday April 4, 2013
And hoods.  Abby loves to have on a coat, but it really must have a hood!
Cutie pie in a sundress and turtleneck.  That's been the style so far this Spring!

Friday April 5, 2013
We met Daddy for lunch in Fort Worth, but we got there a little early, so I went into a store to try on some pants.  This is Abby in the dressing room.

I didn't get good pictures at lunch but we sure did have a good time.

I thought this picture of Abby reading was sweet
Saturday April 6, 2013
There were no pictures on my phone for this day.  Jory left early to go to a men's retreat with church.  Erin Vande Zande came over to bring us our Bountiful Basket and visited for a while.  We did a little shopping and that was all.

Sunday April 7, 2013
Daddy got home for lunch and then after nap we took him and Aaron to get their hair cut.

It was a new place, but Aaron did great and I really liked how it turned out.
This is Abby waiting for him to get done.
While Daddy was getting his hair cut, I took the kids next door to Zoe's and had a hummus snack.

Abby loves hummus.  She'd eat it with a spoon.  Aaron is not a fan, but he liked the pita bread it came with real well.

Monday April 8, 2013
The weather was getting decent by this point and the kids were outside a lot. Aaron found Easter stuff and was playing Easter Bunny.  And then he had to go to the restroom and he didn't put his pants back on before he went back outside.
Abby ended up with the ears at some point.
We are starting to get good summer fruit in our baskets and I have loved watching the kids devour it. Abby has learned how to eat an apple without choking and that's excellent.
After nap Abby found her cowboy boots and put them on.  That girl loves her boots!  This is the best picture I got, though.

And this would be Abby wearing footed PJs, with shoes and a dress and a shirt.  She just really loves to put on clothes.  And take them off.
Tuesday April 9, 2013
I think Abby looks so big when she has her backpack on.
Waiting for 'Bubby' after school.

Comparison Pictures

I was updating the kids' calendars last night and I saw their birthday pictures from last year.  So amazing, so I decided to do a Birthdays In Review Post

Aaron on his birth date
In his first year he gained 12 pounds and 11 inches
In his second year he gained 11 pounds and 5 inches
In his third year he gained 3 pounds and 4 inches
And in his fourth year he gained 4 pounds and 3 inches.
Little Miss the day after she was born.  I realized that on every birthday, she has been the same height as Aaron was at the same age, but she weighed 20% less.

In her first year she gained 13 pounds and 11 inches
In her second year she gained 5 pounds and 6 inches.

Miscellanous Stuff

This shirt says Joyful Easter.  Kristi gave it to us.
We have been in bit of a clothing drought for Abby.  She had a lot of 24 month clothes which she can no longer wear.  And she has a lot of 3T clothes that she can't wear yet.  We had been trying to figure out how to handle this middle ground and how much we want to invest in it when we got this blessing!  Look at all those 2T clothes!  I also got a call from Julie today.  She's at a Consignment Sale Presale and she loaded up some deals for Abby.  Love our friends!
Abby is in to changing her own diaper now.  She'll take her diaper off and get wipes and lay down and try to put the new diaper on.
This would be my children sitting outside the aquarium watching the promo video designed to lure mall shoppers into the aquarium.  We have aquarium passes, so we could have actually just gone in.
Eating at Rainforest Cafe.  Kids loved it!
Aaron called his dad at work the other day and told his dad excitedly that he had decided what he is going to be for Halloween this year - Cinderella! I wish I could have seen Jory's face.
I forgot a couple of signs that Abby knows when I made my list the other day:  'give me' and another one that I can't think of right now.  It was a type of food.  We also learned cracker and cheese the other day.

Easter Day

We had such a pleasant Easter Day
We went to church and Dee and Papa joined us for Sunday School to hear Jory teach the Easter Message.
After church we had dinner - ham, bread, apple butter, salad with sweet and sour dressing, mashed potatoes, asparague with lemon cream and carrott cake.

This girl LOVES her Papa!

After lunch the kids took three hour naps, I caught up with my family on the phone and Jory did yard work.  When the kids woke up we played outside and had leftovers for dinner.  I hope your Easter was sweet!
