College Station, Day Two

On Friday Morning we headed to campus

We ate lunch on campus at Rev's Grille

We were taking a guided walking tour and had some time before it started, so we went to the campus bookstore

Abigail got a purple Future Aggie water bottle that she is so very proud of

The walking tour was really interesting.  This is a picture of the Corps dorms.  Aaron is very interested in the Corps.
We ate lunch at Chicken Oil Company

We went to another store and then in the afternoon went to the Corps Museum on campus.  Aaron was so into the gun room.

After the museum we went to downtown Bryan and walked and shopped a little

Jory surprised me with a Soda Fountain/Antique Store.  It was so fun and I love a true ice cream soda!
We went back to College Station and had dinner at CafĂ© Eccel

College Station, Day One!

Every year at this time we take a long weekend vacation with the kids.  My husband plans it and it's a laid back time.  This year, he chose college station.
Since we have readers now, the car ride was pretty peaceful.  Aaron read several chapter books he got from the library the day before and Abigail worked on a Kindergarten Math Workbook my mom had given her.

On the way!
We didn't get there until around dinner time because we had Aaron's Fun Run at school in the morning.  We went to a fun restaurant and ate outside.  We got this greek plate for an appetizer and the kids devoured it.
Driving through campus we saw the new Rev
This was actually earlier in the day before we left town.  Right after Aaron's Fun Run we are lunch at Panera and hit the road.
When we got to the house we rented, Abigail found a doll house.  It kept her very busy and happy!

There was a waterfall
Sweet kids enjoyed this meal!

560

There's a super fancy restaurant 560 feet up in the air in Dallas in a ball that revolves around so you can see the whole city (and Fort Worth).  It's Wolfgang Puck's Asian Restaurant.   Aaron has always wanted to go, so we decided to take him for his birthday (a little late, but still).  He was so quiet the whole way to Dallas, looking out the window and taking it all in.

Arriving
 About to go up
 Looking out
He had the time of his life!  It was such a hit!

He got to order Lemonade and he couldn't believe it.  And it was sooo good.  Real deal.

We got a complimentary appetizer of Schezwan green beans and he loved them.  They were so crunchy and good.
He ate his noodles with chop sticks

He was so excited that they wrote his name in chocolate, but the best part was the candle!

It was so much fun to celebrate with him!

Random Pictures

We went to the library before we headed out of town last week.  Abigail was set in her too big sun dress, winter boots, backpack and wild hair.

The Grapevine library was closed, so after a mild panic I got Julie's Southlake card and took the kids there.  Luckily, they had the series Aaron is currently reading.

Fun Run!

Aaron has been so excited about raising money for his school and running laps in the Boosterthon Fun Run!

The run was on Thursday and Jory, Abigail and I went to watch.
 He ran 2 3/4 miles!

It was so much fun!

He was really proud of himself and he raised a lot of money!
