Here's Five Weeks in the Life of Andrew Roy Allen

Day One. Seven Pounds. Strong and stubborn. I don't think any of that has changed.

One Week Old. This was the first day he stretched out. He stayed in a fetal position for a week. It was so hard to maneuver him.

Two Weeks. Starting to have a little more awake time. He's still a pretty sleepy baby, though.

Three Weeks. This blanket was mine. My grandmother made it.

Four Weeks. 8 1/2 pounds. Reaching Sister's birth weight but not caught up to brother yet.

Five Week Old today. Wearing 3 month clothes and newborn diapers, but ready for size 1. Nine pounds. Sweet as pie.

Dad and Sheri left at the end of January and I started driving and the world got back to normal. Jory handle morning stuff in its entirety right now and I am sleeping until about 8, but other than that I am fully functional and back in the groove. I am so blessed that my husband does so much. The kids haven't missed a beat.

Andrew sleeps in my room at night (Jory is upstairs until Andrew sleeps through the night - we don't both need to lose sleep), but he naps in his crib.

Two week doctor's appointment. Perfectly healthy, but not happy. He has stayed in about the 20th percentile for weight so he's progressing perfectly on his own growth curve.

I have continued to have weekly lunches with the kids. I got to eat in Aaron's classroom one week because he had earned the privilege.

Aaron on his way to celebrate his birthday (early) at Great Wolf Lodge with his best friend Luke and Luke's brother Preston, their dad and Jory. He had SO much fun. He said it was the best thing in his whole life.

Sis at the library. We had such a fun girl's night while the boys were at Great Wolf. We went to the library and out to dinner (and ice cream) and watch Charlie Brown's Christmas at home (it's her favorite movie and Grandma Beth bought it for her for Christmas.

The Rest of January

Dad and Sheri were here for a week and were SO much help. This is a crazy time for Jory and it took a load off him knowing we had help at home. They had lunch with the kids at school.

My kids love this little boy so much and they have been the biggest help. I feel like they have grown up over night. They have been so responsible and it has been a huge joy to watch them with Andrew and to see them just being so helpful to me.

When I do go out I have kept Andrew under wraps with this cover Sheri sent. It is AWESOME. No one bothers the baby under this! I have been so nervous about the germs this time of year and it has been such a bad season. Two of my friends had a baby the same day I did (YES they did, one at the same hospital) and both of their babies got RSV. One ended up in NICU for six days at two weeks old. So I've stayed out of church and only gone to really open places with Andrew covered like this!
