Aaron in the Hay

Aaron had such a good time at this photo shoot - Kristi knew exactly what she was doing getting Aaron out in the mud and the hay!
It took a bit of doing, but once he was up there I thought we'd never get him off the hay (at least not the easy way!)
I'm gonna jump, Mama!

'Pushing' the hay

Running as fast as he can between the bales

Hay Pictures

My friend, Kristi, who is an amazing photographer texted me one night asking if the babies and I were free for some pictures the next morning.  And, it just so happened that we were!
Kristi passes by these bales of hay on her way home from work and has been wanting to use them as props.

She got lots of GREAT pictures!  I was just tickled!  And it was a really fun time, too!

38 Months

I did Aaron's Monthly Interview this morning and this was the first time he really pondered his answers. A lot of them didn't change, but it was interesting to see him thinking about the questions.

What is your name? Aaron Robert Allen

How old are you? Three

What is your favorite color? Blue

Who is your best friend? Daddy!

What is your favorite animal? Cat

What do you want to be when you grow-up? A firefighter

Who is your favorite person? You

What is your favorite book? The ones I got at the library

What makes you happy? Daddy

What makes you sad? When I get in trouble

What is your favorite food to eat? Big Boy Cereal!!!!

What is your favorite song to sing? Baa Baa Black Sheep

What do you like to play? With books

Some things we've been doing

Don't you just love this? Aaron reading books at the library.  Can you see that they are all about backhoes?  And he is very excited to take them home, but he just can't help but read a few at the library before we leave!  Our library has a lot of great things going on this summer that I am excited about.
We went to Kids Night at Chick Fil A the other night.  Abby is right in it with the other kids in the play area!

Watching Brother swim.  Only three more classes.  We're mostly going to take the summer off from swim lessons and just log pool time.

Mowing...Abby loves Aaron's push mower much more than he did at this age.  I am glad we still have it!

Showing Grandad how to "pick 'em, pick 'em, pick 'em".  The part of Patty Cake she knows - and is VERY proud of.

We had lunch with my sweet friend Meg and Brennan and Kensie who were passing through from Round Rock.  I LOVE this family!

Little Miss

Abby was having such a great time with my camera phone the other day while Aaron napped.  The up close pictures she took herself and she was so proud.  And a little confused.  Then she would run away and turn around for me to take a picture and then run back and look at it!  She is such a trip!

Gig 'Em!

Aren't these precious? I was trying clothes on Abby as I transitioned her closet for the summer.
This is an Aggie dress she wore last year and I saved it hoping it could be a shirt this fall.  I think it will work perfectly.

I have officially moved her into 24 month clothes.  They are a little big and that is great because I have a lot of 24 month winter (Christmas!) clothes for her so she needs to be in this size for a long time!  But the 18 month ones were really too small.
We've been working on keeping bows in her hair.  Some days are better than others, but we are starting to figure out which types of hair things she'll tend to leave alone and which ones she just wants to take out and play with.

Bouncing Fun

Abby had her first experience on a trampoline.  She liked it more than this picture would indicate, but I love this picture!  That's sweet Anna Huffman right behind her.

She also got a chance to enjoy a jump house at the Brockett's house.  Loved it - and can you see Aaron behind her rolling around?

Love this picture

The kids have really been enjoying playing together.  Abby is finally to the point she can play outside a lot.  Watching them interact is so much fun for me.  They are true joys.
PS - this is another dress of mine that my grandma made!
