Abby's Room

I wanted to take a picture of Abby's new wall canvas (these were taken about one year apart) and then I decided to take pictures of her whole room, even though it hasn't changed much since I took pictures before she was born.
This picture was my grandmother's.  She wanted me to have it and I got it about a year ago and Jory chose to put it in Abby's room.
This is the wall hanging that Ann made before Abby was born.  It hangs over her changing table:  Proverbs 3:24 When you lie down your sleep will be sweet.

Abby's birth announcement is on this shelf.  That's new since before she was born!

This table has a picture of her with Grandma Sheri and a CUTE picture of her with Grandpa Tom and a picture of her smelling the flowers at the botanical gardens.

All the flower decor was bought by Grandma Sheri before Abby was born.  I loved it when I first saw it, but I love it more now that it's been Abby's Room for two years.

Family Fun Saturday

On Saturday morning we had Christopher's party and then after naps we headed to the library.
The kids both got Thomas the Train books.
We ate dinner at Zoe's Kitchen.

I've been excited that a Zoes opened in Southlake but we hadn't been yet.

The kids had a great time.

The kids' school did art projects that are on display at the Grapevine Library during the month of February.  This is Aaron's polar bear.
Every kid in the school participated.
Abby made a snowflake!

Party Pictures

We went to Christopher Huffman's 3rd Birthday Party at Paradise Pond Saturday.
Paradise Pond is a fun play area at our church.  There are several different stations of toys, a huge climbing play structure with a slide and a bounce house.
Of all the birthday parties we have been to, this is the very first time that Aaron got in the group birthday picture.
Abby is always in them!
Abby playing in the kitchen.  Both Jory and I went, so Aaron and Jory were in the car area.
The kids had a blast!

Aaron and Abby

Aaron is afraid of the vacuum cleaner and he always has been.  This has been going on since he was born and has, at times manifested itself in child in the corner shaking while I tried to vacuum.  It also comes up at the car wash with difficult results.
It's gotten better at home because he will lock himself in his room and play while I vacuum as long as I do not start the vacuum until his door is closed and I don't vacuum his room until he's locked in another room.
He has trained Abby to be afraid of it, too, so they huddle together.
The other day Abby didn't want to go to Aaron's room so she sat on the couch in the play room that I was about to vacuum.
As soon as I turned on the vacuum she started to cry and Immediately, Aaron ran out of his room saying "I'll get her! I've got her!" He jumped up on the couch and held her tight while I vacuumed right beside that very couch.  He was such a brave sweet boy and he kept telling her it was alright.
Love our babies!

The last of the birthday posts (I think)

The Tuesday after Abby's birthday, they had a little party for her at school.
She took cookies and she got a sweet present from her teachers.
The bow in her hair says 'Happy Birthday' all over it.
She had such a sweet time at her party!

First Ponytail!

It wasn't all that pretty but I was so excited to finally see my girl in a ponytail.
 I thought she looked precious.
She's wearing an A&M shirt that Dee and Papa gave her and an Aggie skirt from Kristi.  Julie gave her the big maroon bow for her birthday.  Jory recognized the sacrifice from a Baylor Girl.
Day two looked a lot better.  I did it while it was wet and I could comb it smooth.
But it was completely out when I picked her up from school, so I don't know how long it lasted.
Her hair is still super fine, so it's hard to keep it up in anything.  Plus, her bangs were cut once when she turned one and so they are shorter and always fall out in her eyes.
But, still!

Fun Stuff

On Saturday we went to Ryleigh Grace's 4th Birthday Party at Jump for Fun in Southlake.  It's a place with big rooms FILLED with bounce houses.  They were very cool.  Aaron went on the same one over and over and over again - it had a HUGE slide and he loved it! It was hard to get any pictures on the bounce houses, but I did get a couple in the Toddler Play Area.

On Monday we had Play Group at the Botanical Gardens in Grapevine.  It was BIG FUN.  This is Abby learning about the vegetable and herb gardens.  We had story time and fed fish and took a hike and say baby lady bugs and did a craft!

More Birthday Stuff

This is Aaron when we got to McDonald's for Abby's party.  He was sooooo excited about Abby's party.  He had been talking about it for weeks.  He told his teacher all about it at school.  He knew when her birthday was and where her party was and the theme.  He woke up from nap that day and said, "Is it time to go?"  He wore his favorite outfit in the whole world and was just so adorable with his anticipation.

The day after the party, Grandad and Mimi came over to celebrate with Abby.  The kids had a really good time.

Mimi reading Abby her new book.
Grandad reading the Super Cool Thomas the Train book that has sounds and music.
Abby loved to dance to it!

Abby's Well Check

Abby had her two year well check today.  It was scheduled for her birthday, but I moved it thinking that we had enough going on that day.

She is 37 inches tall and weighs 28 pounds.  She is in the 97th percentile for height and the 70th for weight.  She is about out of all of her 18-24 month clothes and is moving more fully into 2T.  She wears size 4 diaper.  She is just about grown out of size 7 shoe. (That's a big foot, by the way).
Katie Grace gave Abby this big bow for her birthday!  We got compliments on it today.
Abby eats pretty much anything and is a good eater.  She sleeps about 12 hours at night and 2 during the day.

One of the questions on her well exam was Can she jump (feet leaving the floor)?  I marked 'no' and the doctor asked me about it.  I said, I don't think she can and then I asked Abby to jump.  It was the most hilariously ridiculous attempt at something.  The doctor laughed out loud and then said, "no, she most definitely can not jump.  but that was good...something." I said it was good trying.
