Hill Country, Day One

I finally started going through the pictures from our vacation the first week of May.  They are slightly out of order, though.  We take the kids to the Hill Country in Texas for a long weekend every Spring. This is the second year in a row that we've stayed at the same place.  So, we had a similar itinerary to last year.  We left early in the morning - as soon as the kids got up and we ate breakfast in the car.  We drove to Marble Falls and had an early lunch at the Blue Bonnet CafĂ©.

This is the view from the house we rented

The kids loved climbing the ladder to the loft

We flew kites in the afternoon

Abby's didn't get off the ground, but she ran holding it yelling "It's working!  It's working!"

I beat Jory in horse shoes before dinner

We drove to Salt Lick for a fabulous dinner.  So worth the drive.

More animal park pictures

Julie sent me these pictures from the animal park.  I had completely forgotten there was a turkey.  I didn't get a picture.  I was busy trying to get a video of it gobbling and all I could here was Katie trying to goad it into gobbling!

Legoland!

I took the kids to LEGOLAND last week and Aaron absolutely loved it.  I told Jory I'd never seen him so into anything.

His favorite room was the one with DFW landmarks made out of legos.  Here is the American Airlines center.  He loved the crane in front that really worked.

Driving a lego police car around the track.

This was a ride that went up in the air and flew around

Great Wolf Lodge built from Legos.  Aaron loved that there was real water running through the rides.

After LEGOLAND we went to Chuck E Cheese!  What a fun day!

And the catch up begins again

One day maybe I'll be on top of this all again.  In the meantime, here is the last week or so...

Aaron before school and Abby before swim

Abby got to spend a little morning time with her Daddy.  He worked from home in the morning.

Thursday May 22

Jory made nachos for dinner.  I made the chicken that's on it, but he turned it into really good nachos!

Friday the 23rd Abby wore a cute patriotic dress, but my picture is wonky.  And on Saturday the 24th Aaron took a gymnastics class that he excelled at, but all my pictures are coming in sideways.  He's going to take with Abby on Tuesdays this summer.  He also wore a Colonial t-shirt that day.
Before gymnastics he rode his bike to the park and we had a great time with the park all to ourselves!

Sunday May 25 we went to church and then to a Memorial Day party at the Cotton's.  It was so fun.

Monday May 26, 2014 was the Memorial Day holiday.  We went to a pool party at the Huffman's in the afternoon and had such a good time with our Bible Study group

Tuesday May 27 Abby had gymnastics in the morning

Then we had lunch with Aaron and Abby wanted her picture taken smelling the flowers.

Then we wore this outfit that is supposed to be capris and her body is just so hard with pants

Abby playing with her Barbie head hair thing that she loves

Jackson with a fire truck.  He came to swim with us and then we went to CFA for, like, the whole day.  It was awesome.

I'm having a dinner party tonight and Jory set the table last night.  This is his grandmother's china and I think it's gorgeous.
