What we've been doing

I have been taking pictures each day and keeping track like I used to with Project Life Tuesday, but I haven't gotten them together and posted them in quite a while, so here is about two weeks worth. Tuesday March 15, 2011 We went to my friend Elizabeth's for a playdate. This is Aaron in the sand box. It was so nice for Elizabeth and I to sit and talk and hold our (very) little ones while the older kids played in the backyard. The weather has been so nice here which is a blessing. Aaron is so happy when he can be outside. He had a great time at Elizabeth's but he did not say one word the whole time. Then he got in the car and talked nonstop. He is pretty timid until he gets to know people. I am starting to see more and more pieces of his personality. Wednesday March 16, 2011 Kimmie came to play in the afternoon. She has been coming over once a week since I had Abby. She was missing her Aaron time and I had not been getting out, but we will start visiting her again now that we are out in the land of the living.

Happy St Patrick's Day! We just took pictures today!
Friday March 18, 2011

Ann brought her sweet kids over for the day. It was wonderful! I love visiting with Ann and Aaron loves her kids. He and Gracie played in the dirt most of the time. Rachel is a little Mama and could not wait to get her hands on Abby. Lawrence was pretty excited, too.

Saturday March 19, 2011

Aaron and Jory went to Central Market in the morning and got these flowers for me! Aaron's favorite color is purple. During the afternoon they worked and played outside and took a run.

Sunday March 20, 2011

The Magills were performing at our church on Sunday. We know them from Tyler so they stayed with us Saturday night. I didn't take a picture of them because I thought they might think I was a deranged groupie, but Matt Magill took this picture of Aaron with his phone on Sunday morning. Apparently there is a cool app that makes pictures look old timey. I know nothing about apps, but I liked the picture. And the Magills are just a wonderful couple with a powerful ministry. We were glad to spend time with them.

This was taken right before we found out that Aaron had a nasty fever virus. We were so blessed that Abby has not been touched by it!

Aaron at the doctor getting diagnosed with a fever virus. Needless to say, we didn't get out much this week.

A recovery day around the house.

Thursday March 24, 2011

We were finally healthy and got out to run errands. Aaron spent all of the rest of the day outside running off his pent up energy!

Friday March 25, 2011

We met Daddy for lunch!
In the afternoon Grandad paid a visit.

Saturday March 26, 2011

Aaron and I went to a birthday party for Reece. Here is the Birthday Girl in her very own petting zoo! How cool is that? Aaron was not a fan of the petting zoo, but he loved riding a pony! He was lucky that all of the other kids loved the zoo because he got lots of access to the pony.

When we got home he helped Daddy wash the cars and he was so proud of himself! Sunday March 27, 2011 We did NOTHING today. How nice! Here is Aaron playing in the construction hat Grandad and Mimi gave him for his second birthday.

Deja Vu

Last year on this date I blogged about a fever virus Aaron had gotten that week. On a day when Aaron was acting completely normal he felt warm to me. He had a fever of 103 and no other symptoms. At its worst, we went to check on Aaron and found him lethargic in his crib with a fever of 104.9. You can read about it here. Well, this week I was getting Aaron ready for his nap. It was a normal day - we'd run some errands and everything seemed fine. He felt warm to me so I took his temperature and it was 103. I gave him some Motrin and put him down for his nap. Not long after his nap (when the Motrin should have still been working) his face flushed and his fever had shot up to 104.
I called the doctor's office and was told to give him a tepid bath and to alternate Motrin and Tylenol every four hours so that he always had medicine in him and to not let him go more than four hours without checking on him. The fever went down to a manageable place and we were fine for a while.

That night after we put him in his crib Jory went to check on him. He still had about an hour before any medicine was due, but he was awake and not moving. He was lethargic and burning up. After we got that fever down he had a pretty good night though Jory and I were on red alert all night. We still took him to the doctor the next day just to confirm that it was a fever virus and nothing else. This is him waiting for the doctor. The other pictures are of the morning after the spiked fevers.

He had no infection and was just fine - he just had a fever virus. Again. I told Jory we need to mark the calendar so we aren't caught off guard next year. He is doing just fine now and we are thankful for it. Abby is also doing just fine and the doctor said she should be safe. Whew.

Princess

This is the outfit Abby came home from the hospital in. I love it and I wanted to get some pictures of her in it before it is outgrown. We've actually owned this for about three years - Aaron would have come home in it if he was a girl!

I love the detail - the flowers on the feet won me over!

And I had this sweet bib on her yesterday with it.

And this is a burp cloth, but it's just so pretty!
