Patriotic Week Day Two

Aaron doesn't look very excited to be Patriotic today, does he? I had just woken him from his morning nap...Jory's aunt Laura gave us this outfit and it's perfect for Red, White and Blue week! This picture is from last night after his bath - he was in a much more playful mood!

Patriotic Week Day One

I have decided to dress Aaron in Red, White and Blue all week. Today he has on a Red & Blue polo shirt with Red, White and Blue checkered shorts. (This used to be Dillon's outfit - he was one well dressed baby!) You can't see the shirt because of Aaron's bib. That came about when he spit up all over the first Red, White and Blue outfit he had on! And, as luck would have it, we only had one Red and White bib in the WHOLE house! Hate that! :)

Aaron is grabbing now! My hair, my shirt, his rattle. This just started and is a very new and exciting thing for him. He is, in general, just in AWE of his hands right now. He stares at them, links his fingers together, grabs...he can be busy for a long time right now observing the wonders of his hands!

Clothes, Hats and New Things

Aaron has a lot of hats. A lot. They have all been given to him and they are all different sizes. In preparation for the 4th of July, we wanted to pack a couple of hats for his weekend by the pool! We had no idea which fit him, so we tried on all of them. A lot of them were too big.

In fact, only two fit him. I am not making this up. Jory was there. As luck would have it, look which two hats fit that head of his...

AND...

Greatness, isn't it? Can't you see how thrilled he is? A true Buckeye, folks!

Now look at this picture. Can you see all those clothes that are folded waiting to be put away? Let me tell you about Aaron's clothes. He started his new daycare four weeks ago. That's 20 days that he has been there. On at least half of those days he's worn two outfits because they have had to change him into a backup outfit that I packed in his bag. On two of those days, he wore THREE outfits. That's AT LEAST 32 outfits in the past month. Uh huh. Can I tell you that for the first time on Friday, he wore an outfit that he had already worn to daycare??? Oh my gosh, does he have some clothes. And they are all so cute. He is the King of Fashion. And we are just as spoiled as he is because we haven't bought any of them! How blessed we are! And speaking of clothes, in these pictures he's wearing an outfit of mine. Flashback to the 70s!

It is amazing to me how quickly he is growing and changing. Just like the Bumbo that we had to try for several weeks before he fell in love with it, I find that each week he likes things that he hated just days before. And each week he can do things he couldn't do before. And each week he's bored with something that was so recently new and exciting.

See, he is laying under his Activity Gym. We bought this at least two months ago. And he has HATED it. Screamed if you laid him under it. He would lay on a plain blanket as content as could be, but this? No way. Today, he had a ball with it.

And here is some Tummy Time that doesn't involve screaming! What's up with that? And he was in his Jumper today just bouncing away. All on his own! When did he learn to do that???

Morning Playtime with the Mirror

I thought he looked so cute in this outfit. The onepiece is a hand-me-down from Jessica (in our Sunday School class) and the onesie is a gift from Bryan and Angela. Who, by the way, after too many years and too much heartache welcomed their Miracle to the world last week! What a praise! Mama and Baby are both healthy and we are just thrilled for them. We can't wait for Aaron and Zane to meet. We know they are going to be great friends, just like their Daddies.

Happy Father's Day!

I think Jory had a good first Father's Day! We actually had a very relaxing day which may have been the best gift of all! Aaron woke up in a wonderful mood, as always. We had playtime and then headed to church. Aaron didn't nap in the nursery, though, so when we got home he took a marathon nap. That worked out just fine for us - we took one, too! Then we all got up (around 4!) and Aaron ate then just tickled us by playing in his Jumperoo and talking up a storm. This is one happy baby, folks! He just went down for another nap and Jory and I are about to have his Father's Day dinner. He opted out of going out and instead picked his favorites for a dinner. We have having steak, potatoes, salad, asparagus, homemade bread and his favorite dessert. Sounds like a good ending to a good day to me.

Do you just LOVE this outfit? Grandma Sheri sent it with Peyton when she came to visit. And the shoes are the Polo shoes from my Aunt, Uncle and Cousins. They looked perfect with the outfit. Doesn't he just look like a little man?

Visitors

My friend Ann came to see Aaron Tuesday! I have been anxiously awaiting her visit. This is actually the first time she saw Aaron. Had he not waited so long to make his debut, she would have seen him then. As it turned out, she was on her way to Disney World when Aaron was born and then with the end of the school year it has just been too crazy for her to get away. So, she made it this week and it was wonderful! I've missed her and Aaron loved her. He let her hold him all day and was very content with his new friend.Saturday Papa John and Kimmie made a visit. They hadn't see Aaron for a month and John point out that they'd missed 1/3 of his life! He sure had grown and changed since the last time they saw him! They got to see him in the Jumperoo trying to make it bounce all by himself. What a big boy! Here's another Bumbo picture. He loves the Bumbo. It is making him pretty uninterested in his Bouncy, though!

Now this is not a very good picture because Mr. Aaron would not cooperate today, but this is an outfit that Kim's friend Vickie smocked for Aaron. He wore it to church today and just looked so cute!

We just can't say enough how blessed we are with Aaron. He is such a happy, fun, contented baby. We are just enjoying him like you would not believe.

Happy Three Month Birthday!

Oh, you won't believe what we went through to get these pictures. I can't even tell you because it's too raw to start reliving it already! HA! Anyway, they are not great pictures but they are done and his three month birthday is memorialized. The yellow onesie is an M&M. It's pretty cute. It was one of the first things we were given when we found out we were pregnant with him. John and Kim went to the M&M store in Vegas and picked it up. The other onesie came about after Aaron spit up all over Mr. M&M. It's from Bryan and Angela. Life is good here. Aaron is enjoying so many things and is so much fun. Jory and I are really settling into life with a baby and are getting back into doing a lot of things we used to. We're each in a Bible Study and we are each working out a few days a week. We also instituted Tuesday night Date Night and that has been super nice.
So, life is good and our baby is growing so quickly. Almost fourteen pounds of SWEET FUN.

Look at me!

Two posts in one week - can you believe it? I just wanted to share how great Aaron is doing. He is really loving his daycare. Today was the start of his second week there. When Jory took him this morning, he lit up as soon as he saw his morning caregiver, Donna. Jory said he gave her a Huge smile and went right to her. He said he was just as content with her holding him as if Jory or I were doing the holding. That's not something we find with most people. Here are my Men in Black after church on Sunday.

This is him in a Jumperoo Sunday. A co-worker of mine lent it to us before Aaron was born. We figured he would be much older before we put him in it, but since he is enjoying the Bumbo and the exersaucer I thought we should try it. Loved it! He couldn't make it jump on his own yet, so Mama had to do that, but he LOVED the bouncing. We probably won't use it much until he can push off and make it jump on his own, but it is nice to know he's a fan.

He is still loving the Bumbo. He's figured out that he can move his upper body while he's sitting in it without falling. So he does a lot of 'dancing' while he's in it and he gets so tickled with himself. It is just adorable. He provides so much joy!

Look what we're doing now!

Every week I pull out the Bumbo and every week Aaron screams as if in dire pain. So, every week I put it back, disappointed but determined to try again in a week. Today, though, Aaron seemed to be wanting so badly to sit up on his own against the Bobby. He kept falling, so I thought maybe he'd give the Bumbo a chance today. And he did! As you can see, he was very content. I think this will be good for both of us!

Aaron is adjusting very quickly to his new daycare. The women there interact with him so much! Yesterday when I went to get him he was in the daycare office because one of the administrators has taken such a liking to him that he gets to sit on the big guy's lap while he works. And the women in his room have been putting him in an excersaucer for two to three minutes and he just loves standing! So Daddy has to get his exersaucer ready for him!

Here he is in the Winnie the Pooh outfit from my aunt. He finally got to wear it. I wish you could see the matching socks. They are about the cutest things ever!

Last weekend we had our Sunday School class and their kids over for a cookout. It was a lot of fun and all the kids ran through a sprinkler and had a blast. Aaron slept through the whole thing! That was probably good - there were A LOT of people here! He woke up after everyone except the Suttons had left. He knows the Suttons and got to hang with them a bit, so it was nice.

I am still having a blast putting all his new clothes on him. This red and blue outfit is one of my favorites - it was his cousin Dillon's. I'm not getting very good pictures, though. Since he's at daycare all day my only times for photo ops are early in the morning when we are all trying to get out the door or in the evening when Aaron is ready for bed! So I try to take advantage of the weekends. The outfit he's in today in his Bumbo is from his great grandparents. I would say they have very good taste!
