The Day After Easter

The kids have so many cute Spring clothes that I had a hard time picking their Easter outfits. Since Easter is just one day, I decided to put my Second Choices on them today. I was so excited to take pictures of them in their precious outfits. I'd like to share with you how that went.

Ab

Aaron has taken to calling Abby 'Ab'. Of all the Many Various names we have called this girl in almost fourteen months I do not recall anyone uttering 'Ab'. That's all him.
We he talks about her, though, he calls her Abby. It's just the name he uses when he is talking to her. Or if he relays a conversation they had. For instance, he recently said, "So I said, 'Ab, are you happy?'"
Ab loves her shopping cart and her kitchen. She really is starting to play with things now and show her interests. She is also fond of books which is handy, we have a few. She will sit in the corner and stare at books and turn the pages like she's reading. She also knows which books are hers - not that it keeps her from her brother's!

Hi Blue Eyes

Abby has been such a trip lately. It's so fun to watch her gaining personality - trying to talk and communicate and, mostly, make people laugh. And, wow, does she get tickled by her brother! But she'll also give him this blank stare a whole bunch, too. If he's throwing a fit, she just stares at him like, 'what is all the fuss about? just chill, would you?'

Fun at Chick-Fil-A

On Monday we met three of my friends and their kids at Chick-Fil-A for lunch. What an invasion that was!I got horrible pictures, but my kids had a great time!
They played a lot with each other and I also got to see Aaron interacting with several of his friends from church.

Abby is so brave about playing on the play equipment. It is great that she can have fun with the big kids.

Easter Egg Hunt

We went to Nash Farm's Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday. We went last year and were so impressed. The City of Grapevine does so many wonderful things there (for free!).I didn't get very many pictures this year, but it was a sweet time.

Abby didn't get much hunting done, but her brother was sweet to get her some eggs - just like he did last year!
Afterwards we took a tractor ride which was the best part for Aaron!
We left and headed to the Grapevine Farmers Market which has just opened for the summer. We love the Farmers Market! On the way we saw a patch of blue bonnets and managed to take some of the worst pictures ever - this was the best one. HA!

Things to Remember

While I find it hard to imagine that I'll ever forget how much Aaron loved dirt and backhoes as a boy, I do want to make sure I record memories of the sweet things he said and did. This happened a while ago and most people know the story, but I had to write it down. Aaron came to me while I was cooking dinner with a book he had pulled off our bookshelf. He said, "Mama, I'm going to read you a story about Jesus and Moses. Jesus and Moses were painting a wall blue. God said, 'that would make me very nervous.' So, in the first week, God created yellow."
Aaron is very concerned about his sister. If he hears her crying he wants to know what's wrong and he really wants to fix it. He'll ask me to make her a drink or he'll go get her a blanket or a stuffed animal.
Aaron loves to read. He will sit by himself and 'read' the books that he has memorized. He will read them cover to cover.
When Aaron wants to do something he knows I won't let him do, he asks me to leave. But he's not slick about it at all. I'll tell him he can have one of something and he'll say, "Mama, I'd like you to go out of the room and close the door so you don't see me have two."
