Let the Catch Up Begin

On Thursday  March 5 we woke up to what I estimated was about 4 inches of snow.  I heard, though, that the area got about 7-8 inches.  School was cancelled, but because it was actually snow and not ice and the sun came out, the roads were okay fairly quickly.  Jory went on to work and we went to Abigail's 4 year well check.
She did great and she was healthy (and tall)

So by the time the kids got to play in the snow it was pretty sparse

They had a fabulous time anyway!

They have never played in actual snow!  We usually just get ice and flurries.

School was back on Friday which was great because it was Aaron's day for his School Birthday Party (since his birthday falls on Spring Break).  I had lunch with him that day and he got this Happy Birthday Hat that his teacher made for him.  The top of it is a 6.

He was so proud of his hat and he wore it to Baskin Robbins for his Friday Ice Cream Treat for having all green for the week.  A stranger gave him $20 and told him to buy his whole family ice cream!  The guy left before we'd paid and I told him to wait for the change and he said to buy Aaron a cake!  Everyone that came in smiled at Aaron in his hat and told him Happy Birthday.

Some other pictures

We had Worship Care Sunday.  It wasn't in Abigail's class, but we knew all the kids and it was fun.

I love when Jory reads to all the kids.
On Monday I picked Aaron up from school early because of his birthday party.  We went to pick up his cake, which I was SUPER impressed with, yes?

The Cakery is right next door to CiCi's Pizza and Aaron wanted to have a special birthday lunch there so we did!

Jump for Heart

I got to watch Aaron Jump Rope to earn money for the American Heart Association this week.

It was so cute and fun and sweet and I was very proud
He got to say his name into a microphone

After Jump for Heart the kids got to play some jump rope games together.

It was a really special day

Aaron's Party

Aaron had his 6th Birthday Party on Monday.  We have his early because his birthday is over Spring Break.

It was so much fun.  He wanted to have a swim party so we went to Keller Pointe.

The kids loved the big slide

This was getting ready to go

He chose a Paw Patrol theme and the cake was SO good.  He chose chocolate with peanut butter filling.

This was so fun!  We swam, then had pizza and cake.  The place set up and tore down everything and provided really cute favors.

Snow

We got snow on Friday and on Saturday morning the kids decided to pretend they were swimming at Grandma and Grandpa's in Florida!

They 'flew' to Florida, 'swam', had 'lunch' (fruit salad), took a 'nap', 'swam' some more and 'flew' home.  Love it!
We did meet our Sunday School Super Club last night and the kids swore they needed no help picking out clothes.  At least Aaron had pants on!

Abigail did agree to putting a shirt and pants under her sun dress and completing the outfit with cowboy boots.  Bless it.  I can't even.

So Proud.  I put this on FB and it was pointed out that her sandals were, as always, on the wrong feet.  Could it get any better?  We had a blast at dinner last night though and we are gearing up for another very cold week!

Cookies

This is what's left of Abigail's birthday cookies.  I was so glad to see that Sweetface posted the pictures online.  I love to share her work.

These matched the shirt Abigail was wearing and the cake ones matched her cake, complete with the bow on top.
Here are some of Aaron's paw patrol cookies.  The detail is amazing when you get up close.  I will be excited to see Sweetface's pictures!

Snow Week

What a crazy week we've had! The kids only went to school one full day this week - Thursday.  They went two hours on Wednesday and three hours on Friday.

Monday was a full on ice day and we couldn't have gotten out if we'd had to, but everything was cancelled Sunday night in some preemptive thing that made me laugh.
Tuesday was fine by afternoon, but in the morning Jory couldn't get out.  We made S'mores on Monday with girlscout cookies and marshmallows that Mrs. Hollingsworth gave us.
Abgail dressed up a lot
Wednesday was a delay start.  The roads were fine that day, but it was raining and below freezing so they were being cautious.  Jory made it to work on time without issue.

Abigail in one of her summer dresses.  We also did a lot of legos.

On Wednesday afternoon Abigail spent her Target gift card that Uncle Doug sent her.  She picked out a Minnie Mouse shopping cart with Minnie Mouse food.  She LOVES it so much.  She loves all things Minnie.

This was Wednesday morning.  I laugh.
I was really afraid we would early dismiss today and I didn't really want to deal with it, but we sent the kids to school today anyway and wow, oh wow, did we deal with it.  We have got lots of snow and ice with it still coming down.  The roads are awful and the traffic is horrendous.  It took me an hour to get to Abigail's school and back.
The three of us are safely home now and just waiting on Daddy.
