Here's something no one told me about pregnancy. People critique your body. Closely. Often. Several times a day someone I know will have me stand up, turn around, turn to the side, etc. That person will then discuss with a companion (out loud in front of me) the size and shape of my body.
This actually doesn't bother me, I just find it phenomenal how much boundaries shift when someone is pregnant. Could you imagine doing that to any non-pregnant woman?
To be fair, almost everyone who does this has said that I look great. A few people even go as far as to say I'm small for how far along I am. (Those are really sweet people who believe in lying to protect feelings.) However, for your amusement, I am including the following direct quotes that I have been told over the last two weeks:
1. Oh my gosh! Sara! Your stomach is huge!
2. I can definitely tell that your legs have gotten bigger since you've been pregnant.
3. From the front, you look really small for as far along as you are. But from the back? Wow. Are you carrying this baby in your back? Your rear view is much bigger.

Oh yeah...it will only get worse. I got asked if I was having twins...I wasn't sure if I should laugh or yell. I can't remember what I said back but it wasn't very nice...
Oh I agree! People make comments all the time but luckily people have been nice.
You look great girl. People just think they can say whatever when you are pregnant. I think people forget that us pregnant chicks have raging hormones and we can bite heads off if we want and it is perfectly okay. Thank goodness all of my comments have been nice telling me how small I am twins, but I have a feeling that comment is about to be far and few between. You look FABULOUS girl!!!!
My friends were talking about this very thing on Sat. It's amazing how people feel they can touch your stomach and critique everything. What a great reminder to those of us who haven't experienced pregnancy to watch what we say! :)
Oh come on, how in the world could your butt possibly get big?! Wow! They were much more close-mouthed in my generation's days! But then people say a lot of things that our generation wouldn't have dreamed saying except to very close friends and that was in the supposedly "free-spirited 60's and early 70's!
I'm anxious to see you. You look wonderful in your pictures and I'm sure you do close up also.

I could certainly not handle people's comments as graciously as you have! Goodness. Fortunately no one has been checking me out from top to bottom (at least by asking me to turn around for them); I think I would burst into tears...which shows my own insecurities. And good golly, now we're into the holiday season with food, scrumptious food all around us. Lord have mercy! :) You look wonderful!
wow. That's so rude! Shrug it off - you look GORGEOUS.
