A Birthday

Aaron turned seventeen months today. Our baby is quickly becoming a boy.

He is almost entirely self-feeding. He loves to use forks and he is getting really good with a spoon. He's finally mastered applesauce which had been eluding him.
He is super helpful. Now the standing on the dishwasher was a new thing. I snapped this picture and then got him off of it. I'm not sure what that was about, but he really does love to help. He is very good at putting away his toys, throwing away his diapers and putting his laundry in the wash! I'll take advantage of it while I can.
He is intense about figuring out how things work. It is fun to watch him play.

He is still a very good eater. He eats most things - all fruits and most vegetables. He is not a meat eater at this point. We usually can't get more than three bites of a meat out of him (except for the occasional turkey), but he gets his protein in other ways. He LOVES Boca Burgers Original Chicken Patties! I am not sure why he loves those and won't eat chicken since I think they taste exactly the same, but it's working for him. He loves eggs and cheese and yogurt and all beans. He loves wheat bread and toast.

He is so smiley and happy! He is a ham and he loves to make you laugh!

This boy is such a joy and we are so blessed!

Project Life Tuesday

It's time for Project Life Tuesday and what a fun week we have to share!

Tuesday August 3, 2010

Aaron and I had lunch with Laura and Braysen at Chick-Fil-A. We haven't seen them in a while and it was such a good time! Braysen is in the stage where he is just growing and changing every day and it was so fun to see him.
Wednesday August 4, 2010

Leslie brought the girls over to visit and Aaron was in rare form. He had a great time playing with them and being entertained by them!

Thursday August 5, 2010
Grandma Beth came! It has been a wonderful week with her in from Ohio! She got in around Aaron's bedtime Thursday so she got to tell him goodnight. This picture was taken in the Princess Room of our house for those of you who have not had the pleasure of seeing it. We are painting it. Soon.

Friday August 6, 2010
Aaron and I took Grandma shopping at Southlake Town Square and we had lunch there at Corner Bakery. It was a nice day despite the heat. We took a little sight-seeing drive and then spent the rest of the day at home. Aaron discovered Grandma's skirt and in this picture he is pulling her all over the house. Great fun! That evening, after Aaron was in bed, Jory went to get Babe's chicken for a truly local dinner. That's why we love having guests! :)

Saturday August 7, 2010
We went to breakfast at Lucille's and it was so good! Aaron was a great eater and he is drinking his milk in this picture. Since we were in Fort Worth we showed Grandma all around the city before spending the afternoon at home.

Sunday August 8, 2010
After church and Aaron's nap we went to Kimmie and Papa's. We had such a good time!

Monday August 9, 2010
Grandma stayed with Aaron while I got a fun girl's day out. They had so much fun! I came home to find my little boy loading rocks into a dump truck Grandma had bought him! That evening, Grandma babysat again so Jory and I could go to dinner!!!

Ohio Trip - Last Day

Colton had spent the night and this is a picture of Colton and Aaron on Friday morning. I think it's sweet. We went to breakfast at Bob Evan's with Karen, Matt, Courtney, Lou Ann and Grandma Sheri.
When we got back we had lots of visitors! My cousin Cheryl came by with Madelyn. Here is Aaron with Karen. She sure loved him!

My good friend Sheri came by with her kids, Kylie and Braden.

We headed to the airport after lunch - and got in the most amazing traffic. There was road construction and it turned an hour trip into a three hour trip. When Aaron started to get restless we tried a DVD, but he wasn't interested. It only lasted a few seconds, but I got this picture.

We missed our flight (we saw it leaving as we pulled into the airport), so we had three hours to kill before the next one. We strolled the airport - and bought Colton a treat for being such a good sport!

Then we had dinner. We didn't get on the plane until after Aaron's bedtime. I was hoping he'd sleep, but he didn't. He was pretty good, though. We had an entire row to ourselves and he did a lot of drawing. He crashed when we got home and slept in. He was pretty happy to see his daddy - he didn't want much to do with me all weekend!
We had a wonderful trip!

Ohio Trip Days Two and Three

I didn't get many good pictures on the second day of our trip. We were at Dad and Sheri's all morning and Aaron was completely occupied playing with the Mega Blocks Grandma Sheri bought him. I really wish I had gotten some pictures of that. He was so intense! He also spent some time wrestling with Buddy the Dog. I missed those shots, too. While he was napping I took Peyton to gymnastics and then went back and picked up Aaron to go to Grandma Beth's. Aaron had a really good time there. He played with lots of toys and found some good rocks outside. When we got back to my Dad's, Eric and Jessica came over with Leah. Aaron and I had met her the day before, but we were so excited to see her again. She is just about the sweetest baby ever! And we had a nice time visiting with Eric and Jessica. Grandma Sandy and Don came by, too. It was a great evening. Day Three:

We were at Dad's all morning. Aaron played with Buddy again and worked on building his Mega Block towers. You can see one in the background here.

Aaron stayed with his grandparents while I got my haircut and met a friend for lunch. When I got back I saw Aaron just as happy as I had ever seen him! Grandma's agrees with him! After I took him to get his haircut Dad introduced him to the sprinkler.

So much fun!

Then we walked around the property and explored the pond.

That night all of the cousins except for Leah came back. It was so fun! Aunt Pam and Uncle Buck and Aunt Karen and Uncle Ernie were there, too!

Aaron giving Colton Five!

We had such a good trip! One more day to go!

Ohio Trip - Day One

Aaron did pretty well on our flight to Ohio. We were blessed to be in a row with an extra seat so he was able to sit by himself and pull down his tray table. He colored a lot. He did get bored and I felt like I needed to keep him constantly entertained, but it wasn't bad. When we got to the airport we were so surprised and happy to see his cousin Peyton with Grandma and Grandpa! We all went to lunch at Bob Evans before heading to my dad's. When we got to the house, Grandpa Tom showed Aaron the big pile of dirt he has! Aaron really enjoyed being outside at Grandma and Grandpa's - it's made for little boys! And Aaron did SO well with everyone! He let everybody hold him and he didn't need me around at all.
Aaron, Peyton and I went to visit Great Grandma and Grandpa Hartley that afternoon. Grandma Ruth pulled out all the stops with some fun toys!

And Peyton and Aaron practiced some wrestling in their living room.

That night Doug and Mindy brought all of the cousins (and pizza) to Dad's. It was so fun! The older kids swam and the adults hung out. We all had a good time.

Here's Aaron on Night Number One with Grandma Sheri. He looks awfully content, doesn't he?

Project Life Tuesday

It's time for Project Life Tuesday and we have such a big week to share!

Tuesday July 27, 2010

Tuesday morning, Jory took Aaron and I to the airport on his way to work! We flew off to Ohio all by ourselves and had a fantastic time (except that we sure missed Daddy). I have 100 pictures from our trip, so expect lots of Ohio posts this week! Wednesday July 28, 2010

When we go to Ohio we stay with my dad in town. Everyone that we know or are related to lives in town, so this works out well. EXCEPT, my mom lives about 45 minutes outside of town. So we never see her as much on our trips. We took a few hours on Wednesday and spent the afternoon at her house. Aaron had a really good time there and he's glad to know that he'll be seeing a lot more of her this week since she's coming to visit us!
Thursday July 29, 2010
Aaron got a decent haircut! Missy, who remembers cutting my hair when I was in a booster seat, did a fantastic job!

Friday July 30, 2010
And we are on the airplane again. Short trip, so if we didn't see you this time around we'll catch you at the holidays. We just had to get up to see that new baby Leah and do a little family visiting.

Saturday July 31, 2010
We hung around the house all day and rested up. And then Aaron helped Daddy wash the cars. Here he is wet and sweaty.

Sunday August 1, 2010
After church and nap Aaron got to working in the yard!

Monday August 2, 2010
Aaron and I had a fantastic day playing together at home all day. However, I didn't take a single picture!?!
