Jory picked Aaron's name. I had fallen in love with the name Anna Elizabeth for a girl. I just thought Anna was very pretty and I really wanted a biblical name. Elizabeth is a family name with special meaning for me and I wanted to use that. So I told Jory that he could pick the boy name if Anna Elizabeth could be the girl name. The meaning was Gracious (Anna) and Consecrated to God (Elizabeth).
We had a whole list of boy names that we both liked and Jory ended up picking Aaron. Mostly because he liked it, but also because it was his cousin Chad's middle name. Chad died too young and he and Jory were close. Robert is Jory's first name and it is his dad's name. So we used that for the middle name, but RIGHT before Aaron was born Jory almost changed the middle name to Thomas. Thomas is my dad's name, so it was always a contender, but it was also Jory's uncle's name. Jory very much loved and admired his uncle and Aaron came very close to being born on the anniversary of Tom Allen's death, so he almost got his name. Aaron's name means Enlightened (Aaron) Famous Brillance (Robert).

Oh my gosh! I LOVE baby names. We already have the names picked out for the next child God blesses us with. Maybe I'll put those in another post. :)
