Thirty-one Days of Fun, Day Six

So pictures on my end are going to be a little hit and miss for a week while my camera is in Idaho with my husband, but I thought I'd show you what a day of fun he's having.  He used the word fantastic seven times in two minutes.

The kids and I kept Asa today, so we played trains and read books.  When it was time to get dressed this morning Abby chose to put on her Hello Kitty PJs and I let her so for the first time she wore PJs all day.  And she was awfully cute.  But we went out for a few errands late this afternoon so she had to put on actual clothes.

The most fun part of the day was when we made a bath with Elmo Color Fizz Tablets and had a green bath!  I've seen other people's pictures of this but I hadn't done it.  So fun!  The kids loved it.  I did take pictures but I don't post naked pictures of my kids, so...

Jory sent us pictures of his trip and Aaron called a bunch of people to tell them all about it which was sweet and cute.  He also made his Daddy a video of him singing "Happy Vacation" to the tune of "Happy Birthday".  Which he came up with all by himself and it's just precious.

Thirty-one Days of Fun, Day Five

We had a fantastic day today and I took lots of pictures, but then my husband took my camera to Idaho before I got them downloaded, so those pictures won't be available for a while.

Since Jory was leaving this afternoon for his 40th Birthday Fly Fishing Trip to the Snake River in Idaho, he was off work this morning.  He got everything finished up at the office yesterday so he was officially signed off duty last night!

This morning we all went to breakfast at Waffle Way.  It is an old run down tiny place that I've never been sure was even still open, but Toby told Jory it has the best breakfast in Grapevine so we gave it a shot.  It was good and the kids ate everything and loved it!

Then we met Janice and her kids at the aquarium.  The kids and I already had this planned so Jory just came along.  It was awesome!  He hasn't been and the kids could not wait to show him every little thing.  It was so fun for all of them and it was nice for me to have extra hands and eyes.  I actually had a conversation with Janice!

After naps Leslie and the girls brought Toby over for the trip and we got to visit with Leslie, Grace and Catherine for a few minutes.  Then the kids and I took Jory and Toby to the airport.

It was a fun day from beginning to end even though we said goodbye to Daddy.  We know he's going to have so much fun and that he'll call and send us lots of pictures.

And on the way home from the airport we stopped at the library and each kid picked two movies to borrow.  Aaron got a Thomas movie and a Percy movie.  Abby choose an Elmo and a Micky!

Thirty-one Days of Fun, Day Four

On Monday, after running up and down the driveway for a while, we...
headed to Legoland!

We played there a bit and then went out into the mall.
We got free samples at the fun food places and checked out the Disney store!

Thirty-one Days of Fun, Day Three

Sunday after naps we headed out for a drive.

The kids each choose a book to take in the car

 We headed to the lake
A little getting the feet wet
And lots of fun in the sand
Then we went to the snow cone stand!

We had a really fun weekend!

Thirty-one Days of Fun, Day Two

Saturday was Big Fun!
We went to Katie Grace's Birthday Party, which I am officially dubbing The Cutest Party Ever!
It was based on the book If you give a pig a pancake and all of the kids wore PJs

The sign at the front door

The food was served on a bed frame with a bedspread for a table cloth.
The cupcake tier is filled with bowls of fruit. There were fun toppings for the pancakes.
The menu
The book and a blown up picture from it

Look at this!  There was also coffee and fun pastries for the adults
The kids played outside the whole time and my kids were mostly in the sand box.  Such a fun, easy going party!

Katie Grace's 'cake' of pancakes with a pig and a candle on top

Yum!

After the party we went to Central Market and then watched a movie together at home!

Chuck E Cheese

We met Laura and Brock and Braysen at Chuck E Cheese this week.  Aaron has always been petrified of Chuck E and would cling to me when Chuck E came out.  But this visit was different.  He chased Chuck E down for pictures and danced with him all four times he came out to do the Chuck E Cheese dance.  Aaron is so proud of the videos of him dancing.
This cracked me up because Abby was saying "backhoes" and pointing to the far side of Chuck E Cheese.  I finally followed her ALL THE WAY across the restaurant to a far corner where this came was.  And there sure are miniature backhoes in the game.  I don't know how she remembered that.

Our church took family pictures to update the Church Directory and each family got a free 8x10.  So here's how we will be captured in the directory.

31 Days of Fun

I realized today that we are exactly one month away from Aaron starting school full time.  On August 26, 2013 the endless summer that we have enjoyed for over four years will end.
We won't be able to go to the Aquarium on Tuesday mornings or meet friends in Waco on Fridays and we won't be able to meet Daddy for lunch once a week.  At least Aaron won't.
So I decided that for this last month of freedom we would do something fun every day.  I have some big ideas and some small ideas and there will be some days that need to be filled.
But we started with sharing a Fruit and Yogurt Parfait from McDonald's.  Please note that I didn't have much notice that my 31 days of fun was starting today and that a Fruit and Yogurt Parfait from McDonald's is a BIG deal to Aaron.
The kids loved their special treat.
Abby made her own day of fun when she got a bottle of water from the garage and poured it on dirt and then took her shoes off and danced in the mud puddle.  In her frilly socks.
Earlier in the day we had a special day of fun when we checked everything of Aaron's school supply list for the year.
This was NOT fun for Mom in case you were confused.  This was, however, very exciting for Aaron who can't wait to go to Rockenbaugh in the Fall.
Plus we went to the Dollar Store and my kids LOVE the Dollar Store.  Really.

Grandad and Mimi's

On Saturday we celebrated Big Mom's 90th Birthday at Grandad and Mimi's house.  Aaron asked all day if he would be able to play with the barn (see above).
Aaron was so excited to show Grandad videos of him swimming.

 Getting some Grandad love.

Lunch with Daddy

After the museum on Friday we met Jory for lunch at Angelo's Bar-b-q. So good and fun!  We love to meet Daddy for a meal!
