Big, Growing Boy

Aaron is growing and changing every day. Here are some highlights:

He is hungry, hungry, hungry. After adding a few too many middle of the night feedings, I finally came to terms with the fact that I am unable to satisfy this growing chunk on my own. We started cereal Monday. He did great. He only had 1/2 teaspoon to start, so it didn't make much difference in his sleep, but he took the cereal and enjoyed it which I considered success. We tried a teaspoon Tuesday night and he took every bit of it! I have heard that the first few feeding result in very little food actually making it to baby. Not true in our case, he was very willing to swallow his chow! He then proceeded to go almost 7 hours before waking up and wanting to eat. Thank you God! Last night he took 1 1/2 teaspoons and slept 10 hours with only one wake up for feeding. It was really, really nice.

Aaron is a great napper. He is now going down without fussing. We just put him in the crib and he quietly falls asleep! He sleeps so peacefully - I love to watch him sleep. He is still being swaddled and I dread breaking him of that, but I know the day is coming. We will start weaning him from the swaddle soon.
Aaron is generally pretty happy. We don't hear a lot of complaints from him and we SO enjoy being with him. In fact, I love it so much that I will be doing it full time starting August 1. Yes, I put in my resignation notice at work last week and gave a 30 day notice. Very soon, my career will be Stay at Home Mom!
