Tube Update

I have been horrible making you wait until the end of the day to hear about our ENT appointment. It really went fine. My stomach was in knots afterwards, but that's not because of anything in the appointment - I think I am just ready to have this done and have Aaron healthy.
We really liked the surgeon. It was a woman and she was very thorough about explaining things to us and encouraged us to ask questions and call if we have questions between now and the surgery. There was some fluid in Aaron's ears. It was not infected as he is on antibiotics, but it likely will get that way when he is off the antibiotics. It was just further proof that Aaron's ears won't drain fluid. His tubes just aren't working well enough yet.

The surgery is scheduled for Tuesday December 29 at 7am. There just isn't an earlier time, but if someone's surgery gets cancelled we will get called for the spot. Assuming that doesn't happen, we have two weeks until the procedure. He may have an ear infection by then, but they can still do the operation.
(Ummm...Aaron was in this picture up until the moment the camera clicked. He somehow ducked the picture!) The procedure will take less than five minutes and we will be home that morning. The worst part is that Aaron can't have anything to eat or drink after midnight the night before. Since he normally eats breakfast by 6am we expect to have a very angry and confused child on our hands by the time the surgery takes place.

All in all, the appointment went very well. We are on the surgery schedule and we'll keep you updated if anything changes.

I like the picture of him crawling around the couch---He looks like he's looking for something to get into!
I'm glad you at least have a definite date and that you like the doctor.
Sorry about the hungry child part.

Love---OH mom/gma

I have my calendar marked for Aaron's surgery date, dear friend, and will be praying lots! As you approach the day, I pray you'd be filled with much peace and a lot of special time with family. It sounds like you have a lot of great things planned. Be careful on the road today! Lots of love to you all!
