A Mouthful of Teeth

Aaron has six teeth coming in at the same time. No, that is not normal. No, it is not pleasant. I endured an hour and a half of screaming in the car yesterday that could not be abated by anything and could only be attributed to sharp objects piercing one's gums.

Today, Aaron had a teething biscuit. I have been adamant against all processed foods and these do qualify as processed even though they are completely organic and all natural and about as healthy as anything that's not grown on a tree can be. I made him feed himself, though. I decided that today was the day to freak out about the fact that my 9-month-old will not put anything in his mouth and refuses to eat food that is not fed to him.

So, after a tremendous power struggle, Aaron fed himself a teething biscuit (it's kind of like a healthy shortbread cookie). And he made an unholy mess. Seriously. Gumming this thing into slobbery dough and then putting his hands on everything. I have no idea why I wanted him to feed himself.

We've had a fun week. Tomorrow we head to Fort Worth. Kimmie and Papa John are going to keep Aaron while Jory and I go to dinner and a concert with our dear friends Toby and Leslie. Then Sunday we head to Grandad's house. They'll get some time with Aaron and then the Allen Family will descend for the annual Christmas Extravaganza. Have a wonderful weekend!

He looks so serious--really intense about what he's doing--so cute! Six teeth at once--wow! Poor baby and poor mommy and daddy!
Have a great weekend and a super birthday!
Oh and I liked your comment about power struggle. Hmmm ----you and I wouldn't know anything about that, right?!

Love--mom/gma

oh, bless his heart! And bless his momma's heart too! Brennan has had a few of those teething biscuits and loves them! If you're looking for a way to keep Aaron good and occupied while in a restaurant, that's a good thing to let him have. But yes, be prepared for the mess. I usually wipe Brennan up as he eats. It's a great distracting snack though.
