Deja Vu

Last year on this date I blogged about a fever virus Aaron had gotten that week. On a day when Aaron was acting completely normal he felt warm to me. He had a fever of 103 and no other symptoms. At its worst, we went to check on Aaron and found him lethargic in his crib with a fever of 104.9. You can read about it here. Well, this week I was getting Aaron ready for his nap. It was a normal day - we'd run some errands and everything seemed fine. He felt warm to me so I took his temperature and it was 103. I gave him some Motrin and put him down for his nap. Not long after his nap (when the Motrin should have still been working) his face flushed and his fever had shot up to 104.
I called the doctor's office and was told to give him a tepid bath and to alternate Motrin and Tylenol every four hours so that he always had medicine in him and to not let him go more than four hours without checking on him. The fever went down to a manageable place and we were fine for a while.

That night after we put him in his crib Jory went to check on him. He still had about an hour before any medicine was due, but he was awake and not moving. He was lethargic and burning up. After we got that fever down he had a pretty good night though Jory and I were on red alert all night. We still took him to the doctor the next day just to confirm that it was a fever virus and nothing else. This is him waiting for the doctor. The other pictures are of the morning after the spiked fevers.

He had no infection and was just fine - he just had a fever virus. Again. I told Jory we need to mark the calendar so we aren't caught off guard next year. He is doing just fine now and we are thankful for it. Abby is also doing just fine and the doctor said she should be safe. Whew.

Those viruses are tough on kiddos! They get wiped out. I'm so glad he's feeling better and Abby is ok!
