Ready to head out in his Birthday Outfit that Grandma Sheri and Grandpa Tom actually bought him.
But I ended up having to switch the shirt with a sweater when I walked outside and realized the weather forecast was not perfect.
The plan for his birthday had been a play group at Chuck E Cheese, but he woke up on Sunday morning early with a high fever. I knew he wouldn't be 24-hour fever free by Monday morning, so I couldn't expose other kids to the unknown.
It turned out that it would have been fine. He woke up fever free Monday and was fine, but I took him to the doctor anyway. The fever had been caused by a massive double ear infection. So, we got some ear drops and antibiotics and headed to Baskin Robbins.
Aaron has never been to Baskin Robbins. He's never been taken some place just to have ice cream. This was the most exciting thing that had occured in his existence. He called everyone he knows
and told them about it. And anyone who called him on his birthday got an earful. He went to Baskin Robbins and got chocolate ice cream.
It wasn't the day we had planned, but it was a sweet, special day celebrating a sweet, special boy!

Yes, he was so excited! That's the most he has talked on the phone for a long time!
Grandma Shirley would give me ice cream when I was sick---it was a luxury in our household back then.
Cute outfits!
